Walking a mile

For real’s, I did it!

I don’t know whose shoes they were that I walked in, Richard Simmons shoes maybe, but I walked a mile in them. Today at 3:30 pm, I walked a whole MILE on the treadmill and it took 28 minutes. I even built up a healthy sweat!

I have to admit, I liked it. The rush felt awesome and I met two new friends while I was there. These were people I’ve passed by in the hallways at work for years and thanks to our new sparkling exercise room at work, we finally met and disocvered we had a lot in common – like none of us knew how to work the treadmill at first. We tinkered until we found our groove. I got my heart rate up to 165 and my speed was at 2.5. I can handle that.

Special thanks and hugs to my dear, beautiful friends Michlle and Sadie Jo, who forced me to do this by harping on me several times a day. They were right!

Now if I can only repeat it tomorrow.
