how do you do it?

This is the question I get most of all. I’ll tell you how – staying up late. I look at my days like a bank account and the hours are my credits and I only have so much time to use them up. Kind of like a cell phone plan that doesn’t have rollover minutes.

Patrick went with me to a movie screening right after work today and by the time we picked up the kids from his sisters, it was after 10. Now I’m putting together the finishing touches for my tv segment tomorrow (this is my waiting-for-the-paint-to-dry break). For this week’s column, I want to share a project to help with the hurricane victims efforts, seeing that almost 600 of them are living here in Phoenix right now. Hopefully my idea will go over OK. I’m waiting for the all-clear from the Salvation Army, which I hope will be before my 11:20 hit at the station manana!

Later tonight, I estimate around 12:30 am, I’ll assemble a batch of two dozen bracelets, a dozen shrine kits and then packing boxes to be shipped out tomorrow. It’ll be fine, I usually keep on going until the midnight airing of Oprah is over and then I konk out. I think back to this time last week when I was in California and glued to the TV set watching all the heartache unfold. Things can only get better from here, right?

Don’t forget about http://www.CraftRevolution.com, it’s a way to donate handmade items to be sold online and the proceeds go to the Red Cross!

Alrighty, gotta get back to work now!
