One of the biggest secrets to busting out a book is to just sit down and do it. Don’t think, don’t let your mind wander, don’t doubt. So why am I doing that now? It’s just words on a screen that can be easily cleared off and changed. It’s not like a permanent make-up job or anything. I think back to last November when I signed up for National Novel Writing Month and I cranked out more than 50K words in 30 days and didn’t blink. Actually, I didn’t sleep during all that time! Aftwerwards, it took me several months to edit and form the damn book, but who’s counting? Now it’s time for the last bit of varnishing…
Just words on a screen.
That’s all.
*Deep breath*
For reals, I’m going in to do this once and for all. The hardest part is starting, right? If I can just get going, I’ll be fine. It’s that whole frosting analogy I brought up earlier. That messed with me. The thought cake crumbles are intimidating and now I want to go buy supplies to bake a cake tonight. Mmmmm, chocolate fudge….I should have said this is just like using a Dry Erase marker. That’s easier to take and there are no calories involved.
Ok, bye now. Seriously! Wish me luck.
