Happy daze

Why is it always that everyone else is asleep and I’m the one up late? These are crazy times. GOOD crazy times, I’m not complaining. Although I wish I was rich so I could hire a personal assistant.

I have 208 new emails and I don’t even know how to start to tackle them. I want to answer each and every one with all my heart and soul, but my vision is blurry from lack of sleep.

It’s been such an exciting time. For the most part, I’ve spent most of every waking hour promoting my book. The Amazon ranking thing is killing me. One hour it will be in the 1,000 area and I’ll get all giddy. And then the next time I look, it’s in the 20,000s and I get depressed, worrying that the hype has peaked. When I finally get the courage to look at the ranking again, it is back up. I think I need Paxil just to deal with that angle of the book business!

To date I’ve lost 30 pounds so far! That big milestone came last week. So for the past five days I’ve felt like Paris Hilton, all skinny and sexy. But the scale hasn’t moved in the past couple days and even though I haven’t gained anything, I feel like Big Momma all over again. But now I REALLY have motivation to kick up my gears: I officially scored a 12-month development deal for a national Crafty Chica TV show! The contract negotiations just wrapped up last week, so now it’s a matter of getting together with the production company and putting a format and pitch together for the various cable networks. I’m signed on with co-executive producer, co-creator and host credits. The down side is that it is very hard to get a show on the air. There are so many hoops of fire to jump through. But hey, this is closer than I ever thought I’d get! The people I’m working with are AWESOME and already have shows on the air, and do all kinds of work for major movie studios and TV networks. If it doesn’thappen here, I don’t think it ever will.

As if that wasn’t enough to make me swing dance on the dinner table, last week I made up a gob of exclusive swag for the beautiful and talented Helena Bonham Carter. Did you know her boyfriend is Tim Burton? Here is one of the pieces I made for her:

Well, I’m off to bed. There is so much I want to blog about, but I have to go on a web diet these days too. There are two other side effects that came from my book release that I wasn’t expecting – oodles of orders from our web site, and editors interested in my fiction manuscript. Patrick is taking over the orders and the kids promised me they would do extra chores so I can come home from work and go directly to the computer to wrap up the loose ends of my book. Life is definately all about crafts, drama and glitter these days!
