Dad is divine!

THANK YOU for all the notes and blessings. I really appreciate and it helped so much! The surgery went beyond perfect. Not only did he have a surgeon with the nickname of “Magic Fingers”, my dad also has enough positivity to rival a smiley face button. Before he went into surgery, he was cracking jokes and talked about how he wanted to be back to work at his job as a civil engineer in 10 days. OK, it will be a bit longer than that – but the doctor said people with upbeat, focused outlooks always come through strong.

What I’ve found most amazing is that 3 out of 4 people who I’ve told, all have an immediate family member who has had the same surgery. It comes from years of bad eating habits and not enough exercise. After watching heart surgery videos and reading manuals this week, I think I only want to dine on lettuce for the rest of my life! Eventually all that manteca catches up with you.

Sorry, I don’t mean to freak you out! Here is a picture (at the top) of my dad back in the day. He won an award from LIFE Magazine for designing a futuristic car. The award even earned him a guest spot on a pre-Johnny Carson Tonight Show! Thankfully my dad will be around for many more years to continue to share the story!

Thanks again for all your kind words (big hug)…

Kathy 🙂
