Art Unraveled Photos

I’ve finally been able to take a breath, so instead of flopping on my bed and watching the Emmys, I’m uploading pictures from my classes (and watching the Emmys).

My first class was the Super Santitos Fabric Collage Book (from my Art de la Soul book). I printed images of some popular saints and combined with layers of funky fabrics and threads, we made these crazy, kitschy, gorgeous books.

During the class someone asked me, “Where did you get these great fabrics, Kathy?”
I replied: “St. Theresa’s Textile Trove in Ohio!”

Later we were introducing ourselves and one lady was from “Todos Santos” in Mexico. Soon after someone’s cell phone rang and the song was “When the Saints Go Marching In”! Right after that, we all agreed our class was blessed! Some of the other pictures are from my Dia de los Muertos Shrine class.

I had so much fun and can hardly wait until next year’s event. Have any ideas for classes I can teach?

Until then, here are some pictures. Hugs and smooches to everyone who I met, saw, taught and leanred from!!
