Today my 13-year old daughter, Maya, joined me for my signing. This girl really freaks me out (in a good way of course!). One moment she is giggling about lip gloss like the teenager she is, and then we get to the signing and she turns into my overly efficient personal assitant – without me asking! She literally wanted to pop the gum in my mouth (I was like “I’m not Mariah Carey, darling, I can do that myself…”), opened my water and handed it to me, got my books reading for me to sign them, helped prep and then tear down the craft table and so on. I always tell her someday she is going to have her own career, bigger and better than I could ever achieve, and then I will be HER personal assistant, popping gum in her mouth and stuff like that.
After the signing we hung out at the mall and treated ourselves to hand massages at Lush. If you’ve never been, you must find a location nearest you right this second. We left with a bag of Glitterbugs, adorable glittery massage bars. They are like a bottle of lotion in solid form, you just rub it on your hands – oh, I know you know what I mean.
We covered the entire mall and capped the adventure off with Invincible. I’m a big Mark Wahlberg fan (here is how much). I’m a sucker for those underdog flicks, but I was more thrilled at the trialer for Night at the Museum. Watch this trailer and see for yourself!
