My dad is still in the hospital. Been there since Friday when he had to have emergency surgery. All was well, and then suddenly it is not. Life changes are coming. He is holding strong, keeping his chin up, joking, and being positive. Medicines. Surgeries. Tests and more tests. Adjustments for the mind, body and spirit. And he is still joking and smiling. I am visualizing him coming home soon, sitting at the kitchen table. Hopefully by this time next week. Or sooner – he wants to go to the Cardinal football game on Sunday!
Here is a newspaper article about him when he was much younger. Even though the years have gone by, my dad is still this ambitious young man at heart. He knows all challenges are tasks to overcome so he can move on to the good stuff. This is his biggest task ever. I’m soaking it all up as much, and as fast as I can…
I now know why I received all those milagros on Thanksgiving Day. My dad needs each and every one…
