Paris Hilton crafts?

Who knew she was a crafty girl?

Just got this press release from the CHA folks:

Paris Hilton, internationally recognized model, singer, author, and entrepreneur will be available on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 2:30 – 3:30 pm in the Wooky Entertainment booth #2500, to unveil Paris Hilton, the Creative Collection™ a multi-faceted line of fashion crafting kits from some of the most popular craft segments including scrapbooking, jewelry making and fabric embellishment. Paris will be on hand for photos and signing autographs.

I love to see Hollywood types craft, and she is the last person I expected to be there – but I think it rocks that someone like her is shining the spotlight on our industry so it will reach more people, inspire more to get creative and keep it thriving in this recent state of the economy!

Peace, love, and glitter!
Kathy 🙂

P.S. Check out my new book and product line!

Love & light,

  1. I wish I could be as nice as you.
No, it has been advertised in a lot of areas as the new “HOT”, the new”in” thing, crafting, Etsy etc etc.. Paris just has a good thing for getting in on the band wagon.. It was the “whats in” lists that shone the spotlight on the industry, Paris is there to sell her “line” and nothing more 🙂
I mean good on her, I would love be able to afford a house deposit let alone what she can.. but don’t be fooled that she cares about the industry 🙂

  2. Yah, I know you are right. Sometimes I go overboard in trying to see the good side of things. I wonder if she really is into it though, like if she spends her nights working a cropper or puttingon readers to bead a purse. 😛

A friend of mine and I were just talking about Leeza Gibbons scrapbook line and Hilary Duff’s jewelry line. I wondered whatever happened to those…

  3. Ok, I’ve been thinking more about this. No matter what reason she is joining in, she is bound to bring publicity with her, and maybe that will mean more people in craft stores and indies craft stores, people who have never thought of crafting will say what the heck, and give it a try. I’m always open for new possibilities!

  4. I think that maybe what she will bring in is a lot of jokes and snarkiness about our rewarding hobby choices. It is pretty ridiculous actually. Has she ever talked about crafting and scrapping or ever worn anything she’s made with her own 2 hands?
