Pens are like candy for crafters. I have boxes and boxes of pens, markers and pencils in every brand under the sun. I can’t stop collecting them. Especially ones with glitter in them, because glitter makes everything better!
I always rotate new favorites across my desk. However, lately I have too many favorites so I had to make a special holder for them.
This is what I came up with. It’s just a painted flower pot that I decorated with my Crafty Chica® Little Chica Paint Pack™, then I glued the post to the base of the pot (which is turned upside down) and glued things around the top. The “things” are from a bracelet I bought at the dollar store that I cut up. Suddenly that little bracelet turns into a handful of charms! I added buttons and strands of beads for good luck.
It’s super easy to do and you can totally customize it to make it your own. Are you feeling a solid color or maybe design. Use a CraftyChica stencil if you’d like too.
Supplies
- You’ll definitely need a terra cotta pot to start with.
- Paints. Any kind will work. If you don’t have any paint, you could even use nail polish! Just make sure it’s not gel polish.
- Brush/es
- Glue gun
- Glue stick
- Embellishments
I love my new pencil pot! Bet you never considered decorating a pot for your pens, pencils, scissors and paint brushes.
Peace, love, and glitter!
Kathy 🙂

Eco-savvy trading! With forests dwindling and that we live under threat, every contribution helps. Renewable products are gaining momentum recently.
i love this kind of craft . It’s really very nice.
… and fun to look at!
You are so right! I just received some new Prismacolor pencils and glitter pens and paint pens for my b-day last month. What did I do a week later? Treated myself to gelly roll pens!!
How does it work with a purse? That’s where my pens and pencils get lost and something like your crazy pencil cup might help to keep them in one place :>)
