Wacky Rhinestone Day of the Dead Earrings!

wrapped-earrings

I like gaudy, okay?

I bought some wire frames on clearance at the craft store and wanted to give them the chica treatment. You know, something that I bet no one else ever did with these wire frames.

So I pulled out my trusty bottle of Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue® and rubbed a bit on each side of the frame and then wrapped embroidery thread all around. I kept going from there. Stuff on top of stuff on top of stuff. The sugar skull picture is from the Crafty Chica® Inspiration Card™ set.

Can you guess how many steps went into the making of this pair of earrings? I’ll wait here while you count.

Alright stop counting, it’s a LOT.

Sometimes when I’m lost in thought while crafting, my hands get carried away and keep going and going. It could be the inside of a sunflower seed shell and I’d still find a way to add paint, glitter a pop-out focal point picture. That was the case with these earring. I have yet to wear them. They are a wee bit heavy, so I might change them to clips.

Yay, another step!

Peace, love, and glitter!
Kathy 🙂
