I’ve been busy prepping for my trip to Chicago for CHA, as well as STILL working on the outline for my (hopefully) next novel, so I haven’t had a lot of time to post. But I did want to share some new art badges I made recently. These are currently on sale at Tres Rebecas Boutique in San Antonio!
The top one says “laugh every day,” and yes, that is a chandelier piece on top of a ribbon of emerald glittered canvas.
This one says “my heart,” and is resting on the book Confetti Girl, which I loved, by the way! It was authored by Diana Lopez and is a wonderful story for grade school or even high school girls.
It’s a funny, fast read – and it has lots of craftiness in it! Lina loves collecting socks and not only wears them, but also makes things out of them like scarves and such. Her best friend’s mom is super crafty and always has a project going on.
Apolonia “Lina” Flores is a sock enthusiast, a volleyball player, a science lover, and a girl who’s just looking for answers. Even though her house is crammed full of books (her dad’s a bibliophile), she’s having trouble figuring out some very big questions, like why her dad seems to care about books more than her, why her best friend’s divorced mom is obsessed with making cascarones (hollowed eggshells filled with colorful confetti), and, most of all, why her mom died last year. Like colors in a cascarone, Lina’s life is a rainbow of people, interests, and unexpected changes.
Love & light,
