Here is an easy wood jewelry DIY – and it geometric style
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores asked me to share a project for their National Craft Month celebration and I gladly obliged with this Geometric Jewelry Set project! It’s one of the craft trends for spring and looks fabulous for any time of the year! I tried something new and stayed away from my usual color rainbow-ish palette and went with these cool blues.
Maybe it is because this time next week I’ll be on a cruise in the Caribbean…ok, back to the project, focus Kathy!
Disclosure: The following tutorial is part of the Jo-Ann Fabric And Craft Stores® National Craft Month campaign. I received compensation for this review; however, this is my personal, honest opinion based on my experience.
All supplies can be found at Jo-Ann Stores! By the way – Jo-Ann makes spring crafting easy during National Craft Month with a spring crafting inspiration website. Now let me show you my geometric jewelry set project!
Supplies:
Woodsies shapes (square or triangle)
Tulip Glam It up Iron-On Studs
Jump rings, necklace chain, earring hooks, needle nose jewelry pliers
Handheld rotary tool
Let’s Get Crafty
I started with all square pieces but decided to cut them into triangles. I drew a line with a pencil and used a craft knife to score the wood, then I easily snapped it in half. I went with cool blue colors – light blue, teal and violet. I used the markers to color the front and back of each piece.
I also colored a necklace piece to go with the earrings.
To build the earrings, add a drop of glue and stack the pieces.
Let everything dry for a few minutes.
Drill holes at the top, use the pliers to add the jump rings and findings. To add one more bit of “wow” – add a drop of glue and place a stud on the base somewhere. I like that the studs are faceted, it gives another look to the geometric theme.
