I love to support friends when they launch new product lines! Such is the case with Marisa Pawelko, the Modern Surrealist! She has new line of whimsical die designs through Sizzix that can be used for a multitude of projects! She invited me to join in a blog hop with other designers to give the new dies a try! Scroll to the bottom to see all the other designers on board!
It was perfect timing because I’ve been wanting to make some puffy cuffs with scrap fabric. So I made that the theme of my project!
I used the SophistiCut machine that is cute and compact. Here are the dies I asked for to use. I’m only featuring one project right now, but I’ll use these later on for more projects, so stay tuned!
Follow the directions to layer the die with the fabric and plates and run through the machine.
This is what it looks like, but it also has two little holes on each side to thread cording.
I added a layer of Aleene’s Peel n Stick Fabric Fusion Tape on the inside bottom layer and added batting. Just a pinch. Then I added a piece on the inside of the top and pressed them together.
Next I did the blanket stitch all the way around with embroidery thread. Here is a video tutorial on how to do a blanket stitch. I also added a button on one side and stitched ribbon on the other to act as a fastener.
Here two I made! I plan to make a lot more, they are so easy!!
