Yardstick Necklace Holder

I have so many necklaces, that there is no one container that can hold them all. I wanted them on display for me to pick and choose at will. Also, they are all so colorful, I wanted a way to show them off as decor for my room.

This was one of those projects where I didn’t want to go shopping for a solution. I hunted around the garage for ideas and found a bundle of old yardsticks.

I took one of them, painted it hot pink and cut it into three pieces that fit the width of the area where I wanted to hang my necklaces. I nailed the three pieces, and then added smaller nails to hold my necklaces.

Wow! Now I have an awesome little jewelry collection in my room! It adds color and texture to the decor and it’s easy to keep them all organized. Yes, this is my version of organized1

You could use this method for your craft room too – hang ribbon strands, jewelry chains, etc.

  1. I have one of those ruler jewelry racks… Mine is really special. My mom made it when she was about 10-12 years old as a key rack. She died recently at age 97. I’ve got just bracelets on it. My necklaces are on a mug rack…
