Dia de los Muertos Tiaras using patches

By Kathy Cano-Murillo, CraftyChica.com, featuring appliqués from the Crafty Chica product line!

Dia de Los Muertos tiaras anyone? I recently picked up some sequined tiaras in the dollar bin at the craft store and knew they would be the perfect size for my Crafty Chica appliqués! Bingo! They were! This is a super simple project – grab an appliqué (you can buy one here or at Michaels) some Aleene’s Tacky Glue, gems, feathers and you are set!

First glue the applique in the center. I would use Tacky Glue and clothespins, the curve of the tiara will make it difficult to iron. Use the clothespins to hold it in place while the glue dries. Then add the embellishments like feather, gems and any other trim you want!

I took these on the Michaels tour to show them to people and I gotta say, they were a hit. Lots of chicas took pictures wearing them, including my friends Anna Alvarado (check out the link to see her beautiful paintings!) and Lisa Rocha of Ilaments Jewelry – beautiful!
