This is mother-in-law’s recipe that is da bomb!!!! By CraftyChica.com.

This campaign was right up our kitchen’s alley…errr, make that cabinets…Hunt’s Tomato Sauce is one of our main jams around here. It all stems from my mother-in-law’s salsa recipe. She has these magic hands that can just grab a few ingredients, toss them in the blender and boom! Your life is changed from the flavor! The thing about Hunt’s is that it is a tried and true brand we all grew up with. All of Hunt’s products have no artificial preservatives and are 100% natural. AND did you know that all Hunt’s tomatoes are grown in sunny California? I had no idea! They find it is the perfect climate for the reddest, juiciest tomatoes to make all their products.

OK, let me share my mom-in-law’s recipe. She actually shopped for the ingredients and made this batch just for all of you! What makes this salsa so addicting is that bite after bite, it grows on you. Just when you think it is too hot, you go in for another bite, then it is just right. From chips to dip, or glopping it on top of tacos or huevos con queso, you’ll burn through a batch in no time at all!

Here is all it takes! You can use Hunt’s Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes or Hunt’s Tomato Sauce, or Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes, it’s your choice!

Also:

1 bunch of cilantro

1 bunch of green onions

Fresh garlic, peel about 3 sections

Red chile seeds to taste, we used about 1/8 cup (add more or less as your taste buds want)

Oregano, 2 tablespoons

Salt, 1 tablespoon to start, add more to taste

Here’s a pretty picture of green onions in my mom-in-law’s hands. Look at this for a second while I go pour a batch of the salsa and get some chips, because this Hunt’s post has already made me hungry!

I’m back. OK, put everything in the blender. Juicy!

Blend on high for one minute. DONE!

When it’s all done, it will look like this! Taste it and see what adjustments you want to make. This recipe is quick and easy and will always score high points with your family and friends.

This recipe works for us, because we always have salsa on hand for a lot of our meals and we never buy the jar kind. We always use Hunt’s to make this version, it’s like our version of ketchup!

NOTE: If you make your salsa too hot, add some cream cheese to cut the heat, plus it makes it taste even better!

OK, this is my challenge, this is where Hunt’s can help save my marriage…I’m a bit dramatic, but still! Cooking is not exactly my first or strongest skill or talent. In all our 24 years of marriage, Patrick is the one who make our dinners 80% of the time. Now that our kids are older, I really want to step up and learn some new recipes to freak out my family and show them I throw down some over-baked goodness too! As part of this campaign, I learned that Hunt’s has an extensive recipe site that for the second year, partners with Kraft Foods! The Hunt’s® Signature Recipe Collection and Hunt’s Kraft® Partnership is cool because you’ll find an array of meals to make that are easy and tasty. Time to spice up the menu, you know?

I’m going to make it a goal to always prepare the best meals I can for Patrick and the kids by using quality ingredients – like Hunt’s® Tomato Sauce and awesome collection of easy-to-use canned tomato products. No preservatives, 100% natural is the way to go!

Here are some of the samples of recipes you can find on the Hunt‘s ® Coleccion de recetas de Hunt‘s ® y  Kraft® website:

  • Chorizo Bolognese
  • Weeknight Mini Meatloaves
  • Nacho Macaroni and Cheese Bake
  • Slow Cooker Mushroom Spinach Lasagna
  • Easy Chicken Parmesan
