Balsamic, cola & cream cheese spread

Here is a super savory cream cheese dip that combines cola soda with balsamic vinegar and honey to create a tangy, sweet and salty spread for your crackers. Plus it also has a dash of herbs and garlic for an extra touchdown of flavor!

There are a variety of ways to serve this recipe:

– Mix it into the cream cheese like you see here.

– Pour some of it on a serving plate and set the cream cheese on top.

– Set the cream cheese on a plate and drizzle over the top.

OK, let’s get started!

Ingredients:

1 cup of cola

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons honey

A pinch of herb de provence

1/2 small clove of garlic minced or crushed

2 8-ounce blocks of cream cheese

Cucumber, sliced

Cherry tomatoes, sliced

Ritz Crackers

Directions:

In a saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, and the cola.  Whisk together over a low heat until the liquid comes to a low simmer. Let the liquids reduce for about ten minutes or until the liquid reduces by half.

Let the sauce cool to room temperature then mix into the cream cheese until it is smooth and well blended. You want it to be smooth and creamy. Pour into a shallow large dish and place in the fridge to cool for 3 to 4 hours. Slice the cucumbers and tomatoes.

Place a dollop on top of a cracker, then top with the cucumber and tomato slice! These are super delish, it’s hard to stop at just one! I’d say prep several trays at once, or you can refer my serving ideas at the top of this post!
