Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers. All opinions and experiences and eating of this yummy dip are all my own!

With the big game on the horizon, Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers are presenting something super fun to add sparkle to the festivities – “Home Bowl“! Coca-Cola is partnering with Evite to create a custom “Home Bowl” experience on www.homebowl.com allowing party planners and football fans alike to create Evite invitations for their party, access to game day recipes and other party tips, and access MyCokeRewards for product coupons.

What I love about the Home Bowl campaign is that it’s not all about winning or losing – it’s about offering yet another reason to get together with friends and family to make happy memories together. And, yah, there is some football involved too! Every year for the big game, Patrick’s family has a party. Even if you’re not into sports, it’s fun to go just for the creative food concoctions his family comes up with. One year, they had a “Bring Something to Deep Fry” party. Pickles, cheesecake, candy bars, you name it, they had a row of deep fryers going. There was a big crowd outside eating as well as the crowd inside watching the game!

So, yup! I’m excited to join up with Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers to bring some ideas of my own to the mix! Available at retailers nationwide, check out the “Home Bowl,” displays for inspiration for your game day parties. Because you want to be the one to say, “I DID!” When everyone asks, “OMG, this is sooo good, who made it?” The recipes and ideas offered on the site are the perfect lineup to bring your family together for the most anticipated football game of the year.

Here is something cool for you!

OK, let’s get this party started. Here is a super savory cream cheese dip that we (I say we because my friend Jeshua helped me!) came up with! It combines Coca-Cola with balsamic vinegar and honey to create a tangy, sweet and salty spread for your crackers. Plus it also has a dash of herbs and garlic for an extra touchdown of flavor! Did you like my football reference there? See? I can be sporty too!

There are a variety of ways to serve this recipe:

– Mix it into the cream cheese like you see here.

– Pour some of it on a serving plate and set the cream cheese on top.

– Set the cream cheese on a plate and drizzle over the top.

OK, let’s get started!

Ingredients:

1 cup Coca-Cola

coca-cola-chesse-spread

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons honey

A pinch of herb de provence

1/2 small clove of garlic minced or crushed

2 8-ounce blocks of cream cheese

Cucumber, sliced

Cherry tomatoes, sliced

Ritz Crackers

Directions:

In a saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, and Coca-Cola.  Whisk together over a low heat until the liquid comes to a low simmer. Let the liquids reduce for about ten minutes or until the liquid reduces by half.

Let the sauce cool to room temperature then mix into the cream cheese until it is smooth and well blended. You want it to be smooth and creamy. Pour into a shallow large dish and place in the fridge to cool for 3 to 4 hours. Slice the cucumbers and tomatoes.

Place a dollop on top of a Ritz Cracker, then top with the cucumber and tomato slice! These are super delish, it’s hard to stop at just one! I’d say prep several trays at once, or you can refer my serving ideas at the top of this post!
