I’m a blogging GEEK. So imagine my Snoopy dance freak out when I was invited to speak at Press Publish! Created by the people behind WordPress.com, this one-day event takes place in both Portland and Phoenix and is all about serving content creators – yes, us bloggers! The official description is: Press Publish is a one-day conference featuring inspiring WordPress bloggers and the people behind WordPress.com.
Last Fall I spoke about artful blogging at WordPress’s premiere event, WordCamp San Francisco (see my video above). The event had more than a thousand attendees (sold out) and consisted of mostly developers and designers. The techy side of blogging! That made me so nervous, because I’m not at all into the back end of things, I’m more into the stories and photos. However, it turned out to be one of the best experiences of the year for me! After spending a couple days with WP developers, I learned so much about fine-tuning my blog to make a better experience for you – the reader. And I made a lot of new WP friends *waves at Automattic staff*.
Then… I got the call about Press Publish! Rather than developer-focused, this conference is specifically tailored for bloggers to increase their quality in writing, seo, brainstorming, photos, layouts, and everything in between.
My presentation is called: “DIY Success: How CraftyChica.com Went From a Personal Passion to Big Business Success.” I’m going to share the steps I took to get my brand launched and noticed in a variety of markets.
