How to Host a Fresh-Smelling Craft Party!

The word is out – my friends and family now all know I have a kiln in my garage. That means I hosted several painting parties last year to give everyone a chance to make their own mug or plate. Aside from the food and music, making the house smell good is a must-have. I was excited to find out about this opportunity to try out the Glade® Clean Linen® scented Wax Melts to serve that purpose!

For this party in the picture, I invited members from my art collective, The Phoenix Fridas. We get together all throughout the year for events and sometimes just to craft together. That’s what this day was about! I wanted to create an atmosphere of calmness, creativity and comfort! We each bring a plate of food, some of us bring a music playlist or I’ll have artful movies on deck to play. It keeps the conversation lively. Having a craft party is such an awesome way to forget about work and stress, and just let your spirit manifest in an artful way!

For our project, we each painted a plate!

In the other room, I set up my Glade® Clean Linen® scented Wax Melts and Glade® Wax Melts Warmer. I read all the directions on the package. I love that the little wax cubes come ready to go, simply place one in the warmer!

I plugged it in and let it do its work! It takes a couple minutes to melt down, then it fill the house with the aroma. Not too overpowering, just the right amount of scent to keep things smelling fresh and clean.

I especially loved this because it’s too cold these days to open the door and windows, so this worked perfectly! And one cube lasts 16 hours, long after your party ends, unless you are hosting an all night craft rave!

We were able to get all our painting done and have fun in the process!

HOW TO HOST YOUR OWN PARTY!

Decide how many people you want to host, then come up with a project that will work for that size. Think cost effective – find affordable items to decorate like wood boxes, plaques, plates, etc. Gather up the supplies, you can also ask your guests to bring items from their craft stash if they want. Make sure to have a sample of the finished project so everyone can get an idea of what they are making.

When it comes to crafting, especially in a party setting, people can get a little anxious, while others just flow with the groove. This is where the ice breakers come in. Have a table with snacks and drinks. As for music, I recently shared an acoustic cover song playlist and everyone LOVED it, so much it got them talking about new music and sharing band names and songs from their smartphones. Another idea is to have some fun trivia games to talk about while everyone is creating. And of course, you should make sure the house smells yummy! Find a separate area in your home, maybe a coffee table or the entryway to set up your scent station – the Glade® Warmer and Wax Melts!

You can also have little swag or gift bags to give to each guest as they leave, as a memento of the great time they had!

I hope this gave you some ideas for hosting your own craft party!

Thank you so much to Glade® for the awesome opportunity to work together on this project! I’m always excited to try new things, especially if they make my house smell fresh and new!
