Fruity Pebbles Craft: Make a Vinyl Pouch

Have you ever thought to make a Fruity Pebbles craft? The colors are so vibrant, why not? Sure there are oodles of creative recipes, but I challenged myself. This Fruity PEBBLES™ vinyl pouch is the result! You can use it to hold markers, small craft supplies or even take it out on the town and have it hold your lipstick, wallet, and keys.

Fruity Pebbles Craft - Make a vinyl pouch, by Crafty Chica.

I signed on with Post Foods to share some creative DIY projects using the entire Pebbles line of cereals. I love this because it shows versatility beyond the obvious, it really pushed me to think literally “out of the box” – or bowl I should say. Once I started to brainstorm ideas, I couldn’t stop. I have all my other ideas on deck, so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out PebblesCereal.com. It’s an activity site for kids and has all kinds of coloring pages, games, crafts to make and more.

Supplies to make this Fruity PEBBLES™ craft:

Fruity Pebbles Craft - make a vinyl pouch.

1-1/2 cups Fruity PEBBLES™ cereal

1/2 yard of clear vinyl (or you can use a clear shower liner for practice)

Sewing machine

Clear or white thread

Tissue paper

No-sew permanent fabric tape

Pinking shears

Sequins, small gems, small images

Colorful trim

Velcro tape

Directions to make this Fruity Pebbles craft:

Cut a piece of the vinyl, measuring 32″ x 11″

Fold it in half, so you have two layers that measure 18″ x 11″

Now it’s time to sew up the sides, you’ll need to place a strip of tissue paper on the top and bottom of where you are going to sew so it will glide through the machine smoothly.

Make sure to backstitch and sew a double row to make sure it is all sealed in. Pour in the Fruity Pebbles, along with the sequins, gems and small pictures.

It will look like this!

Carefully bend the bottom up to make the body of the bag. Apply tissue again and sew up the sides. Distribute some of the contents towards the top and sew where the top flap will bend. That way you’ll have the contents on the front flap as well.

Apply the Velcro in the center of the flap. Use double-sided no-sew tape along the front hem of the flap and apply trims.
