Podcast #24: Heart Healthy Ideas Using Avocados + Free Cookbook

Here are some heart healthy ideas using avocados. Nutritionist Malena Perdomo, spokesperson for Aguacates Frescos – Saborea Uno Hoy, joins us to talk about living a heart-healthy lifestyle.

She says to make smart “swaps” of bad fats for good fats in our daily diet with help from wonderful avocados!

What to replace? She says in place of butter in baked goods, and switching out mayo with a smear of avo is good too.

I learned so much from this interview, it all makes me love avocados even more.

Did you know the predominant fat in avocado is unsaturated?

According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, replacing saturated fats can reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol levels in the blood. Avocados can be a satisfying and yummy addition to a reduced-calorie diet when eaten in place of other fat sources. My husband calls avocados “nature’s mayo” – lol!

Thank you to Aguacates Frescos – Saborea Uno Hoy for sponsoring this episode!

  1. Kathy,
She is beautiful! I especially like her neck and head – it gives us a glimpse as to what is going on in there!

The glittery varnish really gives her a glow of light. How about the name Luz? A beautiful name meaning light, for a beautiful and empowered woman.

I will definitely be at Scottsdale Fashion Square this October to see your woman as well as all the others. Thanks for sharing this!
