These Mexican greeting cards were such a fun experience. It was the first time in a long time I just crafted my guts out with no time limit.
I used all kinds of supplies from different designers, and whatever excess goodies I had. The result? a dozen gorgeous multi-layered handmade Mexican greeting cards!
DIY Mexican Greeting Cards
Okay, before we go into the process – know that my style is VERY busy. I love layering and adding all kinds of embellishments. Just do your own thing in your own style!
Supplies:

Blank cards with envelopes
Assorted cardstock (glittered, metallic, bright colors)
Patterned floral paper
Washi tape
Images and any ephemera you can find. I found a bunch of great pictures on Etsy from seller TuCasaDePapel. (Tell her Crafty Chica sent you!)
Die cut machine and dies of your choice (this is the set I bought and use and love from Anna Griffin)
Enamel dots, flat back crystals, gems of your choice.
Foam dots and/or tape for layering
Scissors
Directions:

Choose your background papers. You can use one design or cut different shapes. I REALLY love contrast. If nothing matches, it matches – know what I mean?

Use the tape runner on the back of the paper – get all the edges. Then press in place on the front of the card.
This is optional, but you can add washi tape to add a little something different.

Add a layer of something glittered or metallic on top using the foam tape. Also add any other embellishments.
Before gluing anything in place, text out different layouts. But don’t dwell too long, push through and trust your instincts. These are just greeting cards, you can alway make more.

In fact, I always make batches of whatever I create. There are always the clear front-runners. It gets easier the more you make. However, I tapped out at a dozen!

Here is the finished card. I also added enamel dots, more pictures and rose stickers.

Love all the fun and fancy elements!

What a happy post! Can’t wait to get out all those things I’ve been saving to use.
