How to make a resin cover for your art journal! It will bring your work to life – the embedded glitter works its magic!
Have you ever had the desire to just pour out a whole cup of resin to make one big sheet? That’s what we are doing here.
Here is my latest resin project – I had the best time whipping this up. I used a variety of papers and for the cover, I poured out a cup of resin and sprinkled glitter.
SUPPLIES:
Gloves
Scissors
Wire and charms

Directions:
Set out the silicone mat.
Put on gloves.
Use the measuring cup and stick that comes with the resin kit, and mix equal parts (or what the manufacturer directions say) of the resin.
Stir thoroughly, but not vigorously. Let it set in the mixing cup for a couple minutes until the air bubbles pop.
Pour an even layer on the silicone mat, make sure it does not go over the edges!
Sprinkle the glitter on the wet resin.
Use a straw or heat gun to pop any remaining bubbles.
Let cure overnight.
Use cheap scissors to cut it into the size and/or shape you want.
Add it to the journal
Use a handheld rotary tool (or Dremel) to create holes at the top, as well as a stack of paper. You can use a hole punch on the paper.
Feed the wire through the cover and the paper. Close it off however you want. Add a ribbon or a charm!
Now you have a little book that you can use for Instagram photos, sketches, quotes, anything you want.
Other ideas!
Use a paint pen to draw on your resin cover.
Add in small pieces of paper or metallic confetti to the resin.
