These illustrated wood bracelets are a great craft to make. Any colored marker on raw wood will product juicy, vivid results. Here’s how to do it, plus seal it so it will last forever.
How to make illustrated wood bracelets
Supplies:
Brush markers (Tulip Fabric Markers or Tombow Markers are my faves)
Brush-on sealer, followed by gloss spray sealer
I’ve posted about this technique before, but many of you asked for a more thorough version, so I decided to make a video! Patrick and I are working on some pieces for a local order and while I was making these bracelets for it, I went a ahead and filmed the process.
Here is the video where you can see the step-by-step in action!
Directions for illustrated wood bracelets
Make sure your wood bracelets are smooth and free of debris.

Use a fine tip pencil to lightly sketch your design. Choose your colors, one by one to fill out the design that you created. Make sure to also color the inside of the bracelet.
If you’d like, you could use a thin black fine tip marker to outline everything. AND trim it all with a gold metallic paint pen.

Once it is all finished, give it a coat of water-based brush sealer. Once it is completely dry, you could add a spray coat of glass varnish to really seal it in and make it shiny.
