How to make a Glorp drink

One of the fun features in the film is the Glorp drink – trust me, you will want to make one it looks like the perfect intergalactic refresher for summer!

Supplies needed:

ice cube trays

Round silicone ice cube trays (sphere-shaped)
Plastic hurricane glasses
– Curly or looped straws
– Fruit juices in bright colors (such as watermelon, blueberry, kiwi, grape, or tropical punch)
– Optional: edible glitter or glow-in-the-dark cups for an extra cosmic vibe

How to make it!

  1. Prep your ice spheres
Fill the round ice cube trays with different fruit juices—try using one juice per tray or alternating colors in each sphere mold for variety. You can also add a tiny sprinkle of edible glitter to each section for sparkle.

  2. Freeze
Carefully place the trays in the freezer for several hours or overnight until fully frozen.

  3. Assemble the Glorp drink
Once frozen, pop the juice spheres out of the tray and place them into your clear pitcher. Mix and match colors to create a glowing galaxy look.

  5. Add curly straws
Place two or more curly or looped straws into the pitcher or into individual glasses. These mimic the fun and wacky alien vibe of Glorp from the Elio universe.

  6. Serve with cosmic flair
Pour a little of each fruit juice into the pitcher to create a punch-style drink that gets cooler and more flavorful as the spheres melt. Watch the colors swirl and blend!

  7. Optional add-ons
Light up your party with glow-in-the-dark cups or LED coasters. You can also garnish each glass with a fruit skewer or floating gummy planets for extra fun.

Other Elio craft ideas

Here are five fun and imaginative Elio-inspired crafts kids will love, all themed around the movie’s colorful intergalactic world:

1. Glorp glitter slime jars
Make sparkly “Glorp” slime using clear glue, water, glitter, and food coloring. Mix in tiny glow-in-the-dark beads or stars to create a cosmic ooze that feels just like an alien treat. Store it in mini jars labeled “Official Glorp Sample – Property of Elio.”

2. Communiverse passport booklets
Create a mini “passport” like Elio might use to explore alien worlds. Fold paper into booklets and decorate with metallic markers, doodles of alien stamps, and stickers. Kids can invent planet names and earn stamps as they complete space missions (aka crafts or games).

3. Planet pop-up art
Using construction paper, foam balls, or cardboard, kids can design a 3D model of their own alien planet. Let them paint or color it, add glitter or googly eyes, and build fun terrain like lava lakes or candy mountains. Attach it to a base with a pop-up tab for a cool desktop display.

4. Beaded alien friendship bracelets
Inspired by Elio and Glordon’s bond, kids can make colorful beaded bracelets with names like “ELIO,” “GLORDON,” or “COMMUNIVERSE.” Use star, planet, or glow-in-the-dark beads and stretchy string to complete the look.

5. Alien headbands or crowns
Craft silly alien antennae headbands using pipe cleaners, pom-poms, plastic gems, and glittery foam sheets. Let kids design their own alien species with unique styles and colors. Bonus: Use paper or felt to make an official “Ambassador” badge!
