Get ready to unleash your inner textile artist at the Crafty Chica mini-retreat: Altered Threads! Held in Prescott, AZ on Sept 13-14.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll take a humble button-up shirt and turn it into a one-of-a-kind mixed media masterpiece. You’ll dive into a world of creativity, carving your own custom stamps, printing directly on fabric, and layering appliqués and bold t-shirt graphics. It’s not just about fabric—it’s about telling your story through color, texture, and imagination. By the end, you’ll walk away with a wearable work of art that’s as unique as you are!

I will guide you through intentional layering, color mixing, and honoring cultural roots through pattern and symbolism. This isn’t just a class—it’s a celebration of identity, creativity, and courage to wear your art on your sleeve (literally!).

All skill levels welcome! We will stitch by hand but there will be a sewing machine on site for anyone who wants to use it.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist curious about textiles or just someone itching to try something new, this workshop is the perfect space to explore your creative side! It’s all about embracing those happy little imperfections, letting your imagination run wild, and creating something that’s 100% you.

If you’re here to experiment or simply add a personal touch to your style, we’ve got a fun, no-pressure environment where you can let loose and create something completely unique!

All materials provided. Bring your own lightweight button-up denim shirt or select one from our curated stash. Come ready to paint, stamp, stitch, and shine!

The idea is that you can continue to work on this like a journal. Except the journal is your shirt!
