It’s March Madness, time to plan those epic get-togethers to watch the games – and of course, yummy snacks are a must! That’s where these sour cream brownies come in, and I even added Mexican chocolate!
Shamrock Farms asked me to use its tasty sour cream and come up with a slam dunk treat for the occasion. Something as wonderful as that feeling when your team wins.
To me, that means BROWNIES!
But here’s the deal. Adding Shamrock Farms Sour Cream to your brownie recipe creates a whole new vibe for your tastebuds. This sour cream is made with the best milk, straight from Shamrock Farms here in Arizona. I used the traditional Shamrock Farms sour cream, free of growth hormones. Smooth and creamy and fresh!
There are all kinds of recipes where you can incorporate sour cream – from dips to entrees and in my case, brownies! It makes them come out moist and decadent.

Ingredients for Sour Cream Brownies with Mexican Chocolate

1/2 cup Shamrock Farms sour cream
2 ounces Mexican chocolate, shaved
2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2/3 cups of flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 pinch of salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a brownie pan.
Combine the chocolates and butter in a double boiler and melt over medium heat, then remove from stove to cool to room temperature.
In a large bowl add the sugar and eggs and mix, then add vanilla. Add in the chocolate and butter mixture (make sure it’s cooled!).
Add the flour, salt and mix. Now fold in the sour cream!

After mixed, pour into the brownie pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean after being inserted.

Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar!

I think next time I might add some powdered instant coffee to make them sour cream mocha brownies!

Thank you so much to Shamrock Farms for inviting me to participate in this campaign! I love that it is a family-owned Arizona business since 1922 – three generations! All Shamrock Farms milk is locally sourced from its own dairy.
You can even take a tour of Shamrock Farms. Every October-May, the doors of this dairy farm are open to the public – cows and all! 🙂
