5 Crafty hobbies to learn this year

5 HOBBIES TO LEARN

If you’ve been thinking of picking up a new hobby, you’re not alone. According to Statista, up to 14% of people made the New Year’s resolution to find a new hobby. To help you get your craft on, here are five fun hobbies you can start right now!

1. Illustrating

Illustrating is an amazing hobby for people who enjoy drawing and sketching as it entails coming up with drawings and artwork for a number of uses. You simply need a canvas and a good pencil, and you can start to put your dreams down on paper. You can also go digital, and try to come up with digital art which you will be able to print out or sell for some money, an amazing result to get out of your art. If interested, you can look for more information on any of the 1.8 billion websites that are in operation daily at the same time around the world. There are many websites online where you can find online classes like illustrating or calligraphy. Just be sure that you have cast routing tech set up to make your class streaming as seamless as possible.

2. Arranging Flowers

Another beautiful hobby to take up is flower arranging. If you love the way they look and the way they smell, and pretty much everything else about them, you will be at home with this hobby. Find a local florist and make an arrangement with them to get flowers regularly at an affordable price. Alternatively, plant some in your garden so you have access to them whenever you please. When you get good at it, you can even sell your services to people who may be interested in getting some.

3. Jewelry Making

For another craft idea that can make you money once you get good at it, try jewelry making. There are plenty of instructions on Youtube and inspiration on Pinterest which you can use to give you an idea of what to do and how to do it. As you start, ask friends and family what they think about your pieces and find out if you can make improvements. Even if you don’t want to sell your pieces, the sense of pride you will have while rocking a piece you made yourself will be out of this world!

4. Running a Crafting Blog

If you’re a serial hobbyist and don’t want to stick to one single hobby and you can also write, consider starting a blog. This will enable you to take your readers along on your hobby journey. Share details and instructions about each hobby you try out, and soon, your blog may become the go-to place for people trying to learn new hobbies or just get more information about them. Consistency will help you grow your website and you will soon have a community with which you can discuss new ideas and tips to try out different things and make them work out for you.

5. Cross-Stitch

The final hobby you may want to try is cross-stitch. It has become a big trend on sites like Pinterest and is not too technical, so if you’re keen on learning more about it, it’s going to be easy enough to find information and inspiration on it. Once you get the basics down, you can get as creative as you like and come up with unique designs. You may even be able to join a community online that shares amazing cross-stitch ideas and such.

With the five crafts you can learn above, you will be sure to find something you like and enjoy. Try out a few of them and settle on the one you enjoy the most, who knows, you may end up making some good money from doing something you love!

Love & light,
