This adorable stamped sugar skull ring dish and/or bowl fits in the palm of your hand and is hand stamped and painted. I made this by hand from clay then fired it in my kiln, then added underglazes and fired it again. It has shiny glazes that are food safe!
You know how I love ceramics, right?
I stamped this dish using one of my Crafty Chica designs, one-of-a-kind! It makes it even more special because it features my own art all the way through. That specific stamp is now out of production, but I have several sets in my studio, thank goodness!
Here is the process I use for making these sugar skull ring dishes!
Calacas are another terms and they represent the sweetness of life, but also acknowledging death as part of the cycle of life.
I start off with a chunk of clay, run it through my slab roller and then cut out a bunch of circles. Then the stamping process begins. I let them air dry, then fire them, glaze them and then fire them in my kiln again.
It’s tedious, but super therapeutic, I love it!
