Buenas Vibras: Exciting Crafty Chica updates

Las Crafty Chica Facebook group! #craftychica #craftgroup

24/7 craft party!

Here are some fun Crafty Chica updates! Finally, after all these years I created a Las Crafty Chica group on Facebook so folks can come together to share projects, ideas, techniques, or crafty advice. I plan to offer exclusive giveaways, business tips, craft challenges, and more.

If there is anything this pandemic has taught me it is to EVOLVE and I’ve always wanted to launch an online collective and here we are. The Sagittarius in me craves community. If not in person, then at least on the interwebs. We’ve only had the Las Crafty Chicas group a couple of weeks and it is poppin’! Mucho inspiration.

A new book to give you chills!

Currently, we are working on a fall craft challenge to go with the book, Mexican Gothic! I just finished reading this book and loved it. There’s a rumor floating around that it is being made into a TV series. Crossing my fingers it’s true. You’ll love this book. Mexican Gothic is set in the 1950s and a Mexican socialite takes a solo journey to check in on her cousin, who has married into an eerie family. Not only are they creepy, but the house they reside in has a bone-chilling personality of its own.

Here is the link if you are interested, I listened to it on audiobook as I crafted!

Come join us in the new Las Crafty Chica Facebook group!

Crafty Chica online class

New online class!

I’ve had many requests come through for this so I’m going for it! I’m launching a series of online classes, ranging from crafts to business and even retreats! The first one is August 19th and we are making affirmation art by way of a poster frame project. Because it’s my first class in a very long time, I’m going all out to make it special. The project is the poster frame DIY and we’re using my coveted Mexico City paper stash, assorted papers and embellishments, and a Crafty Chica affirmation print to use in the project.

Zoom will be the platform and then I’ll have a FB group afterward to house the video so you can go back and refer to it as needed -and share pictures, ask questions, connect with each other!

Deadline to register!

I’m asking everyone to purchase their spot by August 12 so I can mail your goodie box out in time. You’ll receive all supplies for the project, PLUS a bonus card making kit. We’ll make both of them during the class. NOTE: If you live in Phoenix, we can work out a kit pick-up situation!

This is super special to me – I’ve partnered with Make-A-Wish Arizona to help raise money for future Arizona wish kids! I made two versions of the above piece, one in English and one in Spanish.

About  Make-A-Wish: “As the founding chapter of the now-international wish-granting organization, Make-A-Wish Arizona® continues to be a trailblazer as we work toward our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in Arizona. We have dedicated ourselves to the Make-A-Wish mission, granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”

60% of the net proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Arizona to help fund future wishes for Arizona children with critical illnesses. I’m donating $9 of each sale, and right now I have the prints priced at $10!

It measures 5×7″ and the print is 4×6. Comes in a protective plastic sleeve, ready for framing, or you can display as is. Signed by me! Limited run, definitely a collectible!

Mexican embroidered masks for sale #craftychica

Need a fancy mask?

Last on the Crafty Chica updates list: Check out ShopCraftyChica to see the masks we have for sale – made in Mexico and others from Guatemala. They are well-crafted, bright, and beautiful!

I’m currently out of the ones I made in my studio. I went through a phase where all I did for a solid week was sew masks. I’m talking four dozen in a span of two-three days! There was no way I could keep up with demand so I found some fair trade sources and bought them in bulk. These masks sell fast, every so often I’ll sell out but I’ve been pretty good at replenishing them. And yes, I hope to sew more soon!

Thank you so much for reading through these Crafty Chica updates. Oh my gosh, I have one more – I have TWO new product lines coming out next month. Stay tuned, I can’t wait to show you. Not only what they are but where they will be sold come fall. It’s BIG!!!!!
