My week riding in the Chevy Trax

How does a new car fit in with crafting?

Many, many ways! The fine folks at Chevy offered me a 2024 Chevy Trax to use for seven days during ones of the busiest times of the crafty season – Dia de Muertos!

And it certainly was a busy week! I had a Walmart shoot where I created an ofrenda at Amor Collective. There was a lot of driving and hauling marigold plants, shelves, art (and more) for the installation.

I really liked my experience with the Chevy Trax. It’s perfect for a working artist like myself for transporting art work and supplies safe and stylish!

My overview of the Chevy Trax ACTIV:

It’s a mid-size car so you can easily get out, about, and around town with ease. But at the same time, it is roomy and spacious enough to hold folded tables, art bins, even planters, and folding chairs! Those are the items we fit in there, plus people!

It has Apple CarPlay and is Android auto compatibility.

There is an 11″ screen that show the rear camera view, map, radio, etc.

I drove the ACTIV, which came with 18″ black aluminum wheels, a black grille with Titanium-color chrome accents, and nice interior accents. The seats are roomy and reclinable as well.

From the web site:

“Trax comes with an impressive array of safety features, starting with standard Chevy Safety Assist, a suite of six advanced features designed to help keep you safe on the road. Trax also includes available Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, giving you added peace of mind.”

And, hello – it’s as sweet to ride as it looks. Red is my favorite color!

Based on the previous Chevy Trax model – this version is eleven-inches longer and two-inches wider.

The 2024 Chevy Trax starts at $20,400 and goes up from there, depending on the model and features you choose.

Driving the Chevy Trax

I drove on multiple highways and this is where the safety features came in handy. I felt confident changing lanes, and because of the AirPlay, navigating unfamiliar destinations came easy.

Even in stop and start traffic, it had quick pick-up. Each trip was easy and effortless!

Thank you so much to Chevy for loaning me this sweet ride for the week!
