Need a Halloween hair idea? Make tie dye hair clips! These are genius because you can put them on and take them off as you wish. It’s the easiest way to show off a crazy look for a day or night.
This is an idea I posted years ago – Tie dye hair extensions – and I swear there was nothing like it then. I’ve seen tie dye hair clips on the market now, but why buy when you can make your own?
Right? Isn’t that the crafty way of life?
Beyond Halloween

Sure it’s fun for Halloween, Christmas, I also made then for the 4th of July. But think about it, you can make a set of rainbow ones, or hot pink, for anytime of the year!
Okay, let’s do this!
How to make this Halloween hair idea
Supplies for tie dye hair clips:
Tie dye in orange, green, purple and black. I like this tie dye kit because it has colors for the whole year!
Clip-on human hair extensions (blonde)
small dishes
paint brushes
gloves, plastic table cover
spray bottle with water
raised rack
Directions:
Set out the table cover. The dye will stain permanently!
Mix the bottles of dye with water and shake until the powder is fully dissolved.
Squirt some of the dye in small bowls. One color per bowl.
Put on the gloves and set out the first hair clip. Mist with the spray bottle to dampen the hair.
Set the hair on top of the raised tray. This is so the colors will not bleed into each other.
Using the brush, apply the dye to the hair. The brush will give you more control as opposed to squirting the dye out of the bottle.
Wrap in plastic and let set for six hours.
Rinse in the sink until the water runs clear.
Blot with a paper towel.
Dry and style with a blow dryer, curling iron, etc.
Pop the clips open and wear them loud and proud. Special thanks to Marissa for modeling these for me!
