Cheap Or Free Valentine Experiences For Couples

Here are some great ideas for cheap or free Valentine experiences ideas for couples that you and your partner can enjoy without spending a fortune!

At the end of this post, you’ll find a cute Valentine’s Day Coupon for Couples free printable! It is a fun way to show each other you care, all year long!

Now, let’s get to it!

In la casa

Living room candlelight picnic: Set up a cozy picnic in your living room with some yummy finger foods, homemade snacks, and a delicious drink you both enjoy and eat by candlelight or if you have a fireplace, get the fire going!

This is a romantic and fun way to spend an evening together. I love picnics! Sometimes the perfect gift is just being together and enjoying each other’s company.

Indoor camping: Set up a cozy indoor camping experience with tons of warm blankets, soft pillows, and lots of snacks! Share stories and nibble at your snacks under the “stars.” This is one of my most favorite things to do! I LOVE telling stories and getting comfy with my love!

Go outside

Stargaze together: Find a quiet spot away from city lights and spend the evening admiring the stars. This is so romantic and allows you and your partner some quality time together in peace and quiet! Set up a sit and stare area in your backyard and pretend you are in a faraway land.

Outdoor picnic: This time of year is usually really cold for us so we tend to stay inside! But, if you live in a warmer climate, lucky you!!

Pack some heart-shaped sandwiches (awe, so sweet!), a bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice, chocolate-covered strawberries, and other romantic snacks, and head to a nearby park for a romantic outdoor picnic. Don’t forget a nice big and comfy picnic blanket!

Take a scenic walk in your neighborhood: Explore a nearby park or nature trail and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors together. You can do this in the early morning or the afternoon and do some sightseeing and enjoy the nature around you.

Chill time

Watch movies (Or Your Wedding Video): Pick your favorite movie series or a favorite romantic movie, and have a movie marathon at home.

I love to do this! And, if you are married you can even watch your beloved wedding video together again! Such a wonderful way to rekindle your love 🙂 Don’t forget a soft blanket big enough for two and some popcorn (or favorite snacks) so you can really feel comfy!

Game night: Dust off your board games! It is time to play! Who could say no to a little friendly competition? We love playing cards and board games in our home so we have a closet full of them. And don’t forget charades, Never Have I Ever…

Virtual tour: Take a virtual tour and go explore famous landmarks, museums, and attractions around the world. Virtual tours are available online from the comfort of your own home and are usually free. Play a live feed from Paris, Barcelona or Mexico City!

This would be a great way to check out things you would love to see in real life and you can plan your adventure around it.

Spa night: Pamper yourselves with homemade face masks, foot soaks, and massages at home. You can find recipes for DIY skincare products online!

Most you can make with things you already have in your kitchen. Make sure to prepare them and do the prep work a day or so in advance so you are all ready for the perfect spa night with your loved one!

Attend a free event or concert in your community: Check out the local community calendars or your local library (they sometimes have free event flyers hanging up) for free events like free concerts, art shows, or workshops.

Figure out what your favorite things to do together are and see if there is something in your community that is free to do. My hubby and I do this all the time! There is always something going on for free at no extra cost to you! This is a great way to meet other people in your community too.

couple hiking

Plan an adventure: Spend the evening planning your next adventure together, whether it’s a road trip, hiking expedition, or travel bucket list.

Write down your plans and get excited about it together! You can even make a calendar to count down the days until you leave on your trip! That will build excitement.

Karaoke night: If you are a musical couple and love to sing, then this is for you! Sing your hearts out and have a blast with a karaoke night at home.

Sing romantic songs to each other or your favorite love song. What a perfect way to get your night started (or a perfect way to end it!). If you don’t have a karaoke machine, no biggie, you can use a USB microphone (one you use for online work is fine) and your laptop!

Go hot tubbing (or visit a local hot springs): If you live in a state that has natural hot springs this would be so much better!

But, if you have a hot tub of your own that will work too! Go hot rubbing with your one and only! Bring wine glasses (plastic ones if you are going to a natural hot spring), and a bottle of some bubbly, and watch the stars! How romantic! I always loved hot tubbing, still do!

Get crafty

Make a scrapbook or photo book: Gather your favorite photos of each other, mementos, and other things you have collected along the way while you were dating, and create a scrapbook to commemorate your relationship. This will help you find out, once again, why you are best friends and companions!

Create Valentines for each other: Get out the construction paper, glue, scissors, and whatever else you think you might need, and make some fun Valentine’s Day crafts together. Then, give the letter or card to your loved one and have them read it while the other person listens. You can find a cute printable valentine here!

Wine and paint night: Set up your own painting station at home, open a bottle of wine or sparkling cider, and unleash your creativity together! If you want to be more social, invite other couples to do this fun activity with you! Don’t forget to take tons of pictures!

vision board calendar supplies

Create a vision board: Spend the evening creating a vision board with your hopes and dreams for the future. Or can create bulletin boards as a way of showing each other how much you love one another every day!

These are a great way to bond and set goals together. When it is complete, hang it where you can both see them every day to inspire and make you smile.

Create a time capsule of love: Gather meaningful items and memories from your relationship and create a time capsule to bury or store for the future.

It could include pictures, old concert tickets, cards, poems, notes, etc. that you received from one another. You can also find a time capsule questionnaire online (most are free) which you can download and fill it out with your partner.

Make it really special and then put it somewhere you will never forget!! You can even make a little ‘love map‘ so you will always know where it is!

Plan romantic scavenger hunt: Create a fun and romantic scavenger hunt around your home or neighborhood with clues leading to special, romantic surprises. My niece did this with her fiance and it turned out SO cute! She was taken to so many different places and at the very end he was waiting for her and proposed! It was SO special!!

Learn a fun dance routine: Find a dance tutorial online and learn a new dance routine together. It’s a fun and memorable way to spend the evening. The only thing you need is music (and each other!). Don’t forget to laugh A LOT and just let loose!

Full body massages: Get some yummy scented massage oil (maybe some tasty kind too for the more adventurous!) and give each other a full body massage! Nothing beats a good, long, massage after a hard day’s work 😉 Light those candles, grab your wine, and enjoy each other!

Spice up your love life – in the kitchen

Make a yummy dessert together: Get in that kitchen and conjure up a delicious and savory dessert together! Don’t forget the candy hearts, sprinkles, and Valentine toppers if you are baking cookies or brownies!

chocolate parfait

Cook a meal together: Plan a special and fancy dinner at home together. It’s a great way to bond and enjoy a delicious meal. When you are done with your meal, enjoy a hot cup of coffee on the back porch (or a bottle of wine)!

Cook-off challenge: Have a romantic cooking competition using only ingredients you have at home. Get creative and see who can come up with the most delicious dish all while wearing an apron only 😉 Whoever wins the cooking competition, has to do something special for the other! It could be anything you want 🙂

If you have kids, you can involve them in this one! Then, decorate your home with these DIY Valentine’s Day crafts and host a family Valentine’s Day party! Get the entire family to celebrate!
